Idaho State Capital

Sandstone, quarried near Boise, covers the exterior of this impressive building.  Marble from Alaska, Vermont, Georgia and Italy are used on the inside.  60' pillars support the dome, which is painted on the underside with 43 stars.  Idaho is the 43th state to be admitted to the Union.  The building was completed in 1920 at a cost of $2.3 million.
